One month till Greece

So.....where do i start.  The last 8 months have absolutely flown by. Let me rephrase that, WTF happen to the last 8 months.  I was sitting in my computer chair looking at ticket all causal like, and now, i'm siting here in front of my computer, wondering where the last 8 months have gone since Amber Dorius said "Buy the god damn tickets".  Well, with a day shy of one month away, I am absolutely ecstatic about this trip.  A lot has happened in the 8 months, its truly hard to believe.  My life has completely flipped itself upside down. The emotional roller coaster of new friends, loosing old friends, balancing work and a serious rock climbing passion, and of coarse the ebb and flow of everyday life itself.  What an amazing ride it has been!  It's been a while since the last time i actually blogged on our blog, and I thought it would be a great idea to reconcile the old one, and start fresh with a new one.  Kinda open new chapter into the trials and tribulations of 4 friends leaving on a life changing trip across the word, to a little island situated in the eastern Mediterranean Sea. So.... to catch you up to speed.  Returning from the last great adventure, and i'm sure you'll remember him from such fabulous incidents as; eating snakes, puking his guts out, and running away with a Canadian girl for a month. The one, the only Jess Erikson (crowd sounds and applause) Of course myself, returning for more ridicule and embarrassment. (crowd sounds and boooo's) We have two new comers this year, and their girls, hot ones!!!!  Cassie Mackert and Amber Dorius.  Where do you start with these two. Holy shit!!! Amber Dorius, a strong local girl with a stupid amount of passion and energy for rock climbing. Also, we have Cassie Mackert, who i can't believe we pulled away from her busy work schedule, and finally got her let go for a whole month to experience the time of her life.  These two girls are strong, lean, beautiful, and ready to kick some serious ass. (worth keeping your eye on) I would like to mention, we are loosing one of the O.G.'s, Skyler Stephens.  He will not be attending this years trip. Like i said a lot has happened over the last 8 month's (cough sounds, marriage !) I'll just end that now before his wife reads this, and actually see's me before we leave. Anywhoo, R.I.P.  Skyler, you will be missed.  Maybe next time :)  Anyway, I'm sure i will have lots to bitch about over the next month leading up to our trip, but for now, things are getting crazy, and i'm not sure if this will buff out. Whatever.......!  Skeers out!!!hahaha  That's really dumb!!!

  1. I suppose I'll start with a little self-introduction. I'm Amber Dorius, aka: DJ Delirious, amberdextrous, pheef, and the list goes on... I grew up playing outside, in desert of southern Utah. In my opinion, the best playground a child could have. I am the baby of 3 kids, and i've only recently realized and accepted how much of a princess i really am. I will be turning 30 on my first plane ride out of the country :) A lot of people think the fun's over at 30, and that it's all down hill... Well, not in my story :) I feel like I'm on top of my game! I am happy, and strong, and things seem to keep falling into place :) Thanks life!!
I'm fairly new to this rock climbing thing. I started out bouldering about 6 years ago or so with my then bf. He was the one who introduced me to sport climbing also. We both loved playing on the rocks, but we made it really easy for each other to be lazy...Our daily sessions quickly turned into every few days, then once a week, to almost never, all the way to never. I met Ryan and Cass (jesse came later) through a mutual friend 4-5 years back or so, but didn't become regular climbing buddies until about a year ago (enters jesse) when we started hittin the sport climbing hard :) And still going strong today, aside from a couple minor dilemmas... ;)
They have seen my best, and my worst. They've seen my happy and sad, even smelled my feets and farts. They have all in their own way, helped me understand who I am, and who i want to be, and helped me along on that path. I am incredibly fortunate to have had the opportunity to really get to know, and grow to love Ryan, Cass, and Jesse. They are all so different that I can't believe it works, and then to throw me in the mix seems like a recipe for disaster...Actually, they should probably give us our own reality show! But seriously, the energy we have is unstoppable :) I'm sure they don't know how much they mean to me (because I'm not so good at sharing) but I can't imagine life right now without a single one of them. Now that that is outta my system...(baarf)
I'm psyched to start this new year and new decade off with a HUGE bang, Kalymnos Greece for hell sakes!!! I can't wait to see what kinda shit we can get into in another country! LET"S GET IT ON!!
